Today Paris Hilton entered the foray of the presidential election. She was responding to an ad by John Mccain that likened Obama to vapid, celebrity starsluts, herself included. The reason why she’s upset is because her uber-wealthy hotel franchise family has backed Mccain’s campaign with a good deal of money. I will not post her “ad” here because unlike 95 percent of the media, mainstream or not, I don’t care what Paris Hilton says. About anything.
But forget about why Paris put out her own campaign ad. What I want to know is why it’s the top political news of the day.
Even the Drudge Report didn’t sink to making this story the headline! Yet, the New Republic, a respectable (I think) publication went so far as to fact-check Paris’ energy plan!
