Anyone who has used the family computer at our house knows that it is long overdue for a reinstall. So that’s what I have been doing the last few days. After backing everything of worth up to our in-house server Cookie, I wiped the drive and tried to install Mandriva Linux 2008 on a 20 GB partition… something went wrong with the CD and I wasted a few hours on that. But anyway, now I’ve put WinXP on a 200GB partition. And here’s number 11 on the Why I Hate Using Windows list: The drivers aren’t bundled with the OS. When I popped in Mandriva, all the drivers were there and I had a fully functional OS. Windows doesn’t have anything. I just beat it in to giving me internet and I can’t get anything else. People say Windows has so much better compatibility… but try reinstalling from a disc…
