During this fervent political election season I am confident that commercials and flyers have flooded your television and mailbox.  It seems impossible to turn on the news without hearing the latest from the campaign trails.  Candidates’ quotes and sound bites reverberate at work, at school, at home, and at the gym.  There is no escape.
For months, we’ve heard Senator Obama call for a change of, and hope in, Washington.  “Let us restore our hope in Washington by changing Washington,” his sound bite relays over and over.  Likewise, Senator McCain has repeatedly promoted, “Country First;” an obvious plea for voters and politicians to place the good ol’ USA at the top of their list.

The McCain campaign keeps attacking Obama on taxes. This latest ad is no exception. It states that Obama’s taxes are going to hit hard small businesses and seniors. The latter is a lie. Obama plans to lower taxes for seniors making less than fifty thousand dollars a year. On the businesses stand point, Obama has not been very clear whether his taxes will affect small and big businesses alike.

An Olympian has bared all for PETA in China, to protest cruelty to animals. Amanda Beard, an American swimmer, posed nude with hands discreetly covering her bits and pieces. Sekitar jam 10 pagi hari Khamis, 7 Ogos 2008, saya akan ke Mahkamah Majistret Jalan Duta untuk mendengar pertuduhan ke atas jenayah yang tidak saya lakukan. Propaganda dan plot yang direncana oleh elit pemerintah terutamanya di kalangan yang dekat dengan Perdana Menteri sememangnya tidak bertanggungjawab. Kerakusan serta ketamakan mereka kepada kuasa, membuatkan mereka sanggup untuk menodai institusi-institusi kenegaraan dan demokrasi di negara ini. Ini membuktikan mereka sedang menghadapi krisis moral dan keyakinan.

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim has been charged with sodomy in court and pleaded not guilty to the offence, which carries a penalty of 20 years imprisonment.
“This is a slander, it is a malicious allegation and I am not guilty,” Mr Anwar said from the dock in the Sessions Court after the reading of the charge.
It is alleged he sodomised 23-year-old aide Mohamad Saiful Bukhari Azlan on June 26.
Mr Anwar, a former deputy prime minister, was jailed a decade ago on sodomy charges that were later overturned. The latest charge comes just weeks before a by-election that was expected to return him to parliament.
In Malaysia, a conservative and predominantly Muslim country, sodomy is outlawed and punishable by up to 20 years imprisonment.
