Obama answers ScienceDebate2008 science questions

You can read all of his answers here.  In my opinion, they’re very detailed and describe plans based on facts and science, recognizing and improving on areas where we are currently weak.  One part in particular stood out to me; it was in response to a question about pandemics and biosecurity:
I will build on America’s unparalleled talent and advantage in STEM fields and the powerful insights into biological systems that are emerging to create new drugs, vaccines, and diagnostic tests and to manufacture these vital products much more quickly and efficiently than is now possible. Unfortunately, the Bush administration has failed to take full advantage of the Bioshield initiative. Because of the unpredictability of the mode of biological attack, I will stress the need for broad-gauged vaccines and drugs and for more agile and responsive drug development and production systems. This effort will [...]

IS MCCAIN INSANE?!? The Sarah Palin Blowback and My Four Scenarios of Health

ATLANTA - There can be no doubt that John McCain’s selection of Sarah Palin will go down in US presidential campaign history as one of the most exciting and controversial vice-presidential gambles of all times.  Having posted here yesterday about my initial overwhelming enthusiasm for the Sarah Palin selection, I return now to the topic much more sober-minded.  I posted yesterday that this was a “grand-slam” follow-up to Barack Obama’s historic address on Thursday night.  There remains no doubt about that.  This selection has completely redirected the political discourse and fundamentally reshaped this campaign.   But the stir is definitely not all positive.  And many are now suggesting this selection is reckless and evidence that John McCain is UTTERLY INSANE for having made it, especially considering the wealth of Republican talent he overlooked in the process.
The “reckless” reaction picks up on one piece of the Obama campaign’s response to Mrs. Palin’s selection - that her [...]

Obama’s Dumb Campaign Staff, Is It A Reflection

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by on 30-08-2008

Barack Obama has to have the dumbest campaign staff and speech writers ever assembled, or is it a reflection of the leader?
Two examples of this are one, “If you don’t have a record to run on, then you paint your opponent as someone people should run from,” Barack Obama stated in his acceptance speech. Why did the speech writer think it was a good idea to talk about experience?
Example two was a press release questioning the experience of Sarah Palin. The fact’s are simple, she has more administrative experience than Obama, Biden, and even McCain. To make matters worse the release also took a stab at the fact she was from a small town. Does his staff not realize that such a comment cost him the Pennsylvania primary? Might be a good time to have a talk with your staff Barack or yourself.

Obama and McCain slogans: Fit for Christians?

During this fervent political election season I am confident that commercials and flyers have flooded your television and mailbox.  It seems impossible to turn on the news without hearing the latest from the campaign trails.  Candidates’ quotes and sound bites reverberate at work, at school, at home, and at the gym.  There is no escape.
For months, we’ve heard Senator Obama call for a change of, and hope in, Washington.  “Let us restore our hope in Washington by changing Washington,” his sound bite relays over and over.  Likewise, Senator McCain has repeatedly promoted, “Country First;” an obvious plea for voters and politicians to place the good ol’ USA at the top of their list.
However, I am not convinced that either of these battle cries is faithful to our Christian calling.  Is our “hope” really found in Washington?  Should we really put our country “first?”  Would it not be more faithful for [...]

Pollution from Nuclear energy will eventually kill or sicken everyone!

Last night I wanted to get the latest news about Russia and Georgia, beacuse (if you subscribe to conventional politics) this situation is just a little more worthy f our attention…
Military help for Georgia is a ‘declaration of war’, says Moscow in extraordinary warning to the West  - Kremlin’s envoy to NATO, Dmitry Rogozin - source

But at the time, I couldn’t get much news, becasue of the saturation coverage of Madame Taussauds animated waxwork John McCain, picking Sarah Palin as his VP. No doubt a committed Zionist and advocate of bombing Iran. The newz was going on about Iraqi Bomber Barak Obama has his love in at the Democratic nomination party (eeewww…), painfully heaped upon the fact I didn’t have an internet connection!!!
Anyway, it emerges that both “Israyhell’s security is sacrosanct” Obama, and bomb-bomb-bomb-Iran-McCain have said they will stop the US’s need for oil from the middle east.
The two have obviously [...]

Okay, this must be prefaced by something. I’m a Christian.

I’m also gay. For any neo-conservative readers, I’m really sorry that that revelation has caused your head to explode. You’re probably questioning me and suggesting that my faith isn’t real or something like that. If that’s the case, read your Bible. It’s not your place to question my faith, nor judge me. Jesus said that. Plain and simple.
I also come from what I like to call the “Hippie Jesus” camp. In short, if ya’ll Bible readers remember … Jesus said that the greatest commandment is to love one another. It doesn’t say “Love one another but only when they follow (x) rules” or “Love one another but only if they’re white, straight, and legal citizens.”
That said, reflecting my personal bias toward anything you may read in this post from here forward, I was really disgusted by this ad [...]

McCain Needles Obama On Energy

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by on 08-08-2008

Senator Obama is receiving flak for his statement, “But you could save all that oil that their talking about getting off drilling if everybody was just inflating their tires, and get regular tune ups you could save actually just as much.”  While the Obama camp is promoting the fact that most people agree that tire inflation and tune ups help increase fuel efficiency; they concveniently ignore the inaccurate part of the statement.  No one thinks tire inflation and tune ups provide a gasoline savings comparable to the ammount of oil off-shore drilling would provide.  Senator Obama has struggled to come up with a coherent energy policy, and the McCain campaign has taken note…

Again, the Obama folks are having difficulty taking some ribbing, but it’s Senator Obama’s own statements and inability to clearly state an energy policy that has lead to the criticism.

Inflate your tires and your problems will disappear

Nobama
Slick Barry and the Hollywood Libs have decided you don’t need any lower prices on gas. You just need to inflate your tires.
From the Gore Fuzzy Math Laboratories, they’ve somehow come up with most unbelievable figures that inflating our tires will remove the need to drill for oil. Really, they want you to just accept that. Believe it. Seriously.
How do we even spend time analyzing this kind of lunacy? Never mind, no need to. Barry just got on the microphone again and he’s doubling down on the tire inflation. Of course we know it will help, but only about as much as rolling up your windows while driving. Get real, Barry.

Here’s John McCain doing his creepy old man stand up routine campaigning at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally

Watch how awkward this guy is. This is why I don’t really think this race is going to be competitive at all, regardless of what the polls say right now. The debates should be the real turning point in this campaign, and I think the contrast between the two will give Obama a pretty decisive edge. McCain looks real old, awkward and confused, not sure of what he believes in, contradicts himself a lot, and he has the dumbest campaign advisers on the planet. But it will certainly be entertaining!
