Obama’s “Tire-Pressure” Canard - - Why It’s Disingenuous

Admit it: you know there’s a problem with Barack Obama’s claim that keeping all of our tires properly inflated will save us 3% of our petroleum usage, but you can’t quite put a finger on it. Or you wouldn’t be reading this.
The problem isn’t the 3 per cent mileage improvement figure - - that comes straight out of the Department of Energy’s publication, “Tips To Improve Your Gas Mileage.”
Here, short and sweet, is what Barack either isn’t telling us, or in his cocky arrogance, simply doesn’t know: that figure applies only to an individual vehicle which is not already properly maintained. In other words, Barack is relying on the unstated and TOTALLY INCORRECT assumption that every single vehicle on the highways is running around on improperly inflated tires.
Now, if Barack Obama is so smart, why can’t he deal with this simple logical relationship?
