A Daily Kos story on Palin’s child and some very troubling speculation (as well as pictures and video included).
Looking at the pictures I am now very skeptical about the truth of the story. I would like some confirmation from the Palin side that it was her baby, but just by looking at the dated pictures (you can double check the dates of most of those photos with Google) but I am now leaning toward believing a Kos attack is actually true.

The thing that is so striking is she is saying “the women of America” while McCain’s eyes is groping her in a not-so-gentlemanly way.
Cheers,
Tom

So, the RNC begins tomorrow. I am, as tg puts it, “wildly indifferent” about party lines. I love and hate things about both sides. But one thing I also hate is other people’s urine.
Here’s the link to the story on the protesters who hoarded “buckets of urine” to pour on…people I guess?
I have a question for these folks: How does one collect that much pee? Do you stage a pee drive? Do you just, yourself, pee into a bucket for weeks on end? Did you drink extra water to collect said pee? Did some of the earlier pee evaporate, creating frustrations in your pee collecting efforts? Or, did you have a lid on the pee?
My final thought on this head scratcher is this, I never want to have someone else’s pee poured on me. Ever.

Friend-of-the-blog Monica Youn was a delegate at the Democratic convention. In Slate, she reports on her four days in Denver:
“The yellow-vests have been overwhelmed by sheer numbers, and the convention floor has devolved to a state of nature in which only brute force prevails. Transverse movement has slowed to the point that it’s only by referring to external landmarks that you can tell, for instance, that the guy in the Uncle Sam hat has progressed eight feet in the last 20 minutes. From my vantage point, a few rows back from the floor, it’s like watching a slow-motion feed of the LaBrea, Calif., tar pits, observing once mighty creatures—Secret Service agents, EMTs, cameramen, Chuck Schumer—struggling with increasingly feeble gestures, then succumbing, brought down by the sheer weight of inertia.”
Based on the photo, Monica is in no position to be making fun of other people’s hats.
Here’s a poem of [...]

John McCain made his VP selection earlier this week. Sarah Palin, GOP Governor of Alaska is his choice and I am impressed.
I find it uncannily hilarious that liberals are countering that Palin isn’t experienced enough to be VP when their Presidential nominee’s highlights go from “Community Organizer” to 140 working days in the Senate. Ask any Barack Obama supporter if they can cite any legislation or voting record as proof of his ability to bring about his change and words will escape them. That’s because there is nothing there! Obama’s entire campaign is hinged on emotion, expectations, and the future. Palin, and McCain for that matter too, have a track record of success.
Ed Morrissey:
This is a real laugher. By the same logic, why would the Democrats make a state legislator the actual president? Obama is a US Senator of three years experience, and Palin is a governor of 20 months’ experience. Only [...]

Some things are still to be decided, but it looks like things will be very “abbreviated” on Monday in light of the approaching hurricane. I couldn’t tell if there was a chance that the slated speeches would occur some time after the storm passes. In the meantime a commenter brings up a good question, would Obama have been willing to do the same?

As some of you might know, they are big protests in Thailand right now about the current government. Some of the Bangkok protests are violent, with police firing tear gas and flash grenades into the crowds. These seem to be confined to the area around Ratchadamnoen, where many government offices are (far from me).
Although, from my balcony, I just saw some yellow-shirted marchers go by holding banners, accompanied by military-sounding marching music. Not soldiers, however. Maybe it was just an advertizing thing for mouthwash or laundry detergent, they have those often too.
Most people, including me, are just going on with their lives at the moment, but if you want a unofficial, blow-by-blow, man-on-the-street account of what is happening here in the capital, you follow thaicoup on twitter.

This is my first post on anything of this nature obviously, so please bear with me!
I must say I am politically uneducated person. That being a decision of my own, not having anything to do with ability (or inability) to learn. As I sit around local coffee shops listening to the crazy bickering involving politics, that amazingly to me cause longtime friends to get honest to god pissed at each other, I tend to assume I’m the smarter of the bunch because let’s face it….all these people that seem to know “everything” concerning this politician or that politician are forgetting that we know only what they want us to know and the majority of that is in fact full of untruths. So having said that, I will add that since I don’t keep up to date and brushed up on the politics of this country I am filled with mixed [...]

And this too shall pass…
I stare deep into the reflection of a youth without a sense of purpose,
Life’s been up and life’s been down as he struggles to reach the surface,
a gasp for air,
and another blank stare,
as he drowns more into his sorrow,
living on borrowed
dreams,
a fiend to negativity, as destiny screams,
out for him to hear its voice,
to stand back up and make a choice,
To live or die, what a great surprise,
it is to know that life doesnt always have a happy ending,
We are all surrendering our individualities,
blending our dreams and losing our thoughts
to life’s pessimistic couzin,
reality

McCain couldn’t keep his eyes off of Palin’s ass during her intro speech in Ohio. Nor could he help but twist his wedding band while staring. . . VP is probably not the position he was thinking about.
