Posting will be sporadic this week owing to a strange schedule and other committments. I’ll just mention that the Tigh/Roslin ‘08 campaign really does exist now and is no doubt looking for volunteers. Why not head on over and help them out? The fate of the human race is on the line.
Thanks to Christopher Ambler for the link.
That is all.

So I wave goodbye to my well acquainted routine of arriving at work 30 minutes late and leaving four hours early to exchange it for sitting in the derelict staff room surrounded by the hubub of drills as the school undergoes what appears to be very costly earthquake damage resuction measures. Its times like this that one wonders where exactly the money comes from? And moreso why a daily bus isn’t provided to the nearby JHS where they could easily take in this schools student body of 17, thus allowing:
a) The students to have a bigger circle of friends.
b) Save hundreds of thousands of pounds which could be used in any other capacity.
c) Allow the students to participate in a wider range of activities.(I always feel sorry for the students in Hasekebara that hate tennis and yet have to do it.)
I’m completely bemused by this brazen misuse of resources, the cornerstone argument for not closing the school [...]

Choosing someone to become Vice President of the United States has always been a difficult task to candidates because they are usually trying to attract a crowd that did not identify with the candidate for President. In this case, I am talking about John McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin. I personally had heard about her only once in a small report on an oil spill in Alaska.
Sarah Palin is a very thrilling choice in my opinion. So far, no one has really guessed the reaction of the American electorate after her nomination. Soon we will be seeing several pools being published. I believe that Obama will be ahead of McCain in the beginning, but as far as we have seen, the Republicans have managed to have a much more consistent, interest-driven, and dirty campaign. No one can forget that just last year the Democrats were in a series of crises [...]

By now, most of us have seen or heard T. Boone Pickens’ ads touting his absolute, undying love for the country and, in a very practiced boyish, next-door guy kind of way, his heartfelt desire to reduce the amount of oil we import and help some wind power development along the way. I observed him in a panel during the DNC at the Big Tent and came away very unsatisfied with him and his plan. What was labeled as a discussion came closer to being part sales pitch, part lecture. T. Boone must be used to the old way of doing business, because every blogger I spoke with afterward came away as unimpressed as I was. Why no questions from the audience, for example? I think T. Boone figured out that this crowd would pose some very unwelcome questions considering members of the corporate media [...]

WOW!
I just read a Zogby survey that says…
McCain/Palin 47%
Obama/Biden 45%
Considering how much more media attention Obama has received compared to McCain, I find this amazing!
See: Zogby International
The online survey was conducted on August 29th through August 30th, 2008

In an exercise that will be beneficial to both me (emptying out my Google Reader’s “starred” items) and to you (a whole lot of stuntastic things from around the Internets), I’m bringing back an old segment that will be familiar to my oldest readers, “News I Find Interesting!” Here, I will be posting a long list of links and such that I’ve encountered that I found interesting, amusing, idiotic, titillating, or hilarious, but didn’t get around to sharing with you.
You may have already seen few, some, or all of the links below, but in any case I hope you will find an item or two of note that YOU will find interesting.
1. The New York City’s Department of Transportation has installed nine unique bike racks designed by David Byrne, yes of the Talking Heads fame, but did you know he is also a bike enthusiast? It is only temporary but [...]

While driving today, I caught a conservative talk radio show on a local channel in Upstate South Carolina. I didn’t catch the name of the host, but he was in the vein of Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, but with a better sense of humor. A black guy named Vern called in and was questioning a statement the host made about blacks only voting for Obama because he was black and for no other reason. Vern took offense to that, saying that the black political conscience is more complicated than that. Vern said many black people were voting for Obama because they thought he was the best man for the job. And then, in obligatory form, the host rambled on about how Obama’s lack of experience makes him blatantly unfit to the lead the country.
Vern then counterattacked. He began his thought by, I think, beginning to point out that Republicans talk about Obama’s [...]

Here’s a story that’s filled with salacious gossip, secret pregnancies and unproven sources. In other words, perfect for FameCrawler! There’s a rumor surfacing that Sarah Palin’s fifth child Trig, who was born in April, is actually the child of Palin’s 16-year-old daughter Bristol. According to sources, Sarah Palin’s announcement in early March that she was seven months pregnant came as a shock to those that had worked closely with her, since she did displayed no signs of pregnancy whatsoever during the previous seven months. Here are a couple of other pieces to this story:
- Palin does not appear to be pregnant in any photos taken during her pregnancy. Sources point mainly to the photo below, which was taken of Palin when she would have been almost 7 months pregnant. ….read rest of story here…
